We are currently seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our SEND team, supporting teachers and working with individuals and groups of students to ensure all pupils have opportunities to make maximum progress.
The successful candidate will have a minimum GCSE A*- C in English and Mathematics (or equivalent), and demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  The ability to work with pupils with a variety of needs and a solution-focused, “can-do” attitude is essential. Secondary school experience is desirable.
 
The Whitehaven Academy is a mixed 11 – 18 comprehensive school in West Cumbria, with 800 students on role, including over 110 in the 6th form. The school is a highly inclusive, vibrant and exciting place in which to learn and work. Care, a passion for education and a sense of community are clearly evident across the academy.
